Road trip from Marrakesh to Rabat

Marrakesh is among the most known and the most touristic cities of Morocco. With numerous things to be seen and to be done that Marrakesh has to offer, it's impossible to be bored there. But the main advantage of Marrakesh is that it is situated not far from the other big Moroccan cities: Casablanca and Rabat. Rent a car to take a road trip from Marrakesh to Casablanca and Rabat

From Marrakesh to Rabat, through Casablanca

Upon your arrival in Marrakesh, you can pick up your rental car directly at the airport. It will allow you at once to move freely in Marrakesh, and to go to visit (for example) the souk, the saâdiens graves, the Dar Si Saïd museum or the Garden of Majorelle. From Marrakesh, take the A7 road in the direction of Casablanca. There, plan at least one day of stay to have time to visit the Hassan II mosque, the museum of the Villa of Arts and the Habous district.

From Casablanca, start your trip heading north, on the A3 road which offers a beautiful view of the ocean. After approximately one hour of driving, you will arrive in the capital of the country: Rabat. There, you will discover the royal palace, the necropolis of Chellah, the gardens of Oudayas, the Contrebandiers beach, and the Museum of ceramic.

Practical information

To take advantage of Marrakesh, it is necessary to count at least two days of stay. Then, from Marrakesh, it will be a 2h40 drive to go to Casablanca. And from Casablanca, it will only be an hour drive to Rabat. To make this journey in the best conditions, there is nothing better than renting a spacious and comfortable car, as a sedan car.
