If the Villa des Arts Museum in Casablanca is a collection of contemporary Moroccan art, the Dar Si Said Museum in Marrakech is a collection of traditional Moroccan art. Discover this beautiful palace and where to rent a car to get there.
Situated in the heart of Marrakech, near the Bahia Palace, the Dar Si Said Museum is one of the main cultural attraction of Morocco. Located within the Dar Si Said Palace –back to the 1800s, this museum is dedicated to Moroccan decorative arts.
Visitors come to admire the collections of ancient handcrafts (woodwork, pottery, ceramics, weapons, carpets, jewelry …) but also for the building itself. Typical Moroccan architecture of the second half of the nineteenth century, the Dar Si Said Museum is indeed a richly ornamented palace.
The Dar Si Said Museum is open every day except Tuesdays, from 9am to noon and from 3pm to 6pm. Allow 20 dirhams (about 2€) per adult and 5 dirhams (about 0.50€) per kid (under 12 years old).
A little advice from Hertz Morocco : rent an automatic car to drive across Morocco and to go to the Dar Si Said Museum.
The Dar Si Said Museum is open every day except tuesdays, and it is located at Riad Zitoun Jdid in Marrakech. To get there, consider renting a car.
